The Smoke blockchain charges a small amount of bandwidth for operations. This is charged in kilobytes.

Every new member starts with 6kB available daily bandwidth allowance, which is sufficient for a post, some comments and votes. The bandwidth allowance recharges every day. The more powered up SMOKE you have, the more available bandwidth your account has to interact with the chain.
